Types of industrial solar parks

Photovoltaic solar energy has become a popular source of energy for industrial operations in recent years because of its cost effectiveness, reliability and environmental benefits.
There are different types of industrial solar farms, each with its own unique features and benefits.

Rooftop PV installation

A common type are the by now well-known rooftop installations where the solar panels are mounted on the roof of a building.
This can be a pitched roof or a flat roof, we are always going to adapt our support structure to the type of roof.
Depending on the purpose of the installation, we are going to use as much roof area as possible.

Ground-mounted installation

Ground-mounted installations often provide a solution for businesses with limited roof area or difficult roofs. Depending on the location, structures will be either on the ground or elevated. Equipment, inverters and the like, are also often provided outdoors here. Wiring up to the cabinet can sometimes present an additional challenge here.

Solar Carports

These systems are basically covered parking lots with solar panels as roofs.
The panels generate electricity while providing shade and protection for vehicles.
Solar carports with solar panels are a great option for businesses with large parking lots and can also be used to charge electric vehicles.

Floating solar panels

As the name suggests, these are floating solar parks where the PV panels are mounted on platforms on water such as in e.g. reservoirs, lakes and canals.
This is a relatively new type of system that has gained popularity in recent years.

Adhesive panels

Adhesive panels are an innovative type of photovoltaic solar panels that consist of photovoltaic cells attached to a flexible substrate and coated with a special adhesive.
The panels can be easily mounted on various surfaces including roofs, walls and even curved surfaces.
Due to their very light weight, they offer a solution in situations where additional loading is not possible.

Custom solar park

Because of the unique nature of a consumption profile, customisation is the best way to work out the right installation for your company. Each implementation is preceded by the necessary grid and stability studies that sometimes require additional adjustments.

Then our engineers will determine the best configuration for you. They can draw on our years of experience and work with the best materials and programmes.`

Our projects

All-in-one solution

At D'Arta Frozen Foods in Ardooie, Solora built a PV installation with a peak capacity of 9362,19 kWp.

Ground-mounted PV installation

Aquafin is pushing for sustainability by installing a solar farm at the landfill. This 750 kWp installation allows 25% of the site's energy demand to be met.

Rooftop PV installation

Delhaize Bentille opted for a PV rooftop installation. With their 161.95 kWp solar installation, they utilize the entire roof and are assured of green power.
