Business Development Manager
Since 2014, Solora has been building a sustainable energy future. We design, build, and manage industrial solar installations in Belgium, the Netherlands, and France, and with more than 80 employees, we have grown into a recognized player in the sector.
Our customers rely on us to take care of every aspect of their energy journey: from solar power and storage (BESS) to energy management (EMS). That relationship of trust begins with construction, but its success depends entirely on what comes next: installations that continue to perform day after day.
Given our growing impact and strong market position, we are seeking a Business Development Manager who will play a key role in further expanding our commercial activities.
What does the role entail?
As a Business Development Manager, you will be part of the Solora Group’s European sales team and report to the CCO. Solora specializes in building turnkey projects: the design, installation, and integration of solar energy and battery solutions.
You will be responsible for driving commercial growth in Belgium, proactively seeking out new clients and opportunities. You will implement the sales plan and further expand the market in line with our strategic ambitions.
Using your network and knowledge of the energy sector, you’ll independently identify new opportunities and translate them into commercial, technically sound proposals. You’ll work closely with our Solutions Engineers to translate our strategy into concrete growth initiatives. In this role, you’ll have the freedom and responsibility to open doors on your own and have a direct impact on Solora’s commercial development in a dynamic, fast-growing market.
Your key responsibilities:
- You ’ll actively prospect and identify new customers and business opportunities in the Belgian market, including through networking events and by closely monitoring developments in the energy sector.
- You ’ll generate and qualify new leads within priority segments on your own , and build and monitor your own sales pipeline—from initial client contact, through the creation of a customized proposal, to closing the deal.
- You will lead pitches and negotiations through to the final award, and independently implement commercial initiatives (prospecting, events, partner strategies, lead generation) to secure new business.
- You ensure a smooth handoff of every closed deal to the project department, with a focus on customer satisfaction and contract execution.
- You report on your pipeline, progress, and commercial results.
You...
- have at least 3 to 5 years of relevant commercial experience, preferably with at least 1 year in the energy sector.
- have a technical background or a strong interest in technology.
- are fluent in Dutch, English, and French.
- are entrepreneurial and have strong communication skills.
- are a team player with strong negotiation, presentation, and sales skills.
- You are highly customer-focused and have the ability to build long-term, trusting customer relationships.
- You’ll be based in Merelbeke-Melle, but due to the nature of the role, you’ll spend a lot of time on the road.
- You have knowledge and experience with solar energy, battery systems, and/or energy management systems (a plus).
Solora...
- offers a varied role in an organization where expertise, entrepreneurial spirit, energy, and loyalty form the foundation of everything we do.
- We are offering a full-time, permanent contract with a 39.5-hour workweek.
- offers you an attractive gross salary , depending on your relevant experience, skills, and education.
- supplements your salary with an attractive package of fringe benefits such as meal vouchers, eco-vouchers, hospitalization insurance, a pension plan, a bonus plan, and reimbursement for lodging and travel expenses.
- We provide you with an electric company car with a charging card and the option to lease a bicycle.
- provides an attractive leave policy of 29 days: 20 days of statutory leave, supplemented by 9 ADV days to ensure a healthy work-life balance.
- gives you the opportunity to further your professional development through both internal and external training programs.
